COSMETIC BROW PROCEDURES
IS GLAM BODY SUGARING BOUTIQUE SAFE?
At Glam Body Sugaring Boutique we pride ourselves on following the strictest protocols. Monica is a NYS Licensed Tattoo Artist trained in Infection Control / Bloodborne Pathogens and follows OSHA standards. Our upmost concern is your safety, comfort and results.
WHAT'S THE PRICE FOR MICROBLADING TREATMENTS?
Powder & Ombre technique start at $550
IS MICROBLADING THE SAME AS AN EYEBROW TATTOO OR PERMANENT MAKEUP?
The work involved with microblading is only performed on the skin surface. Microblading will be a MUCH SAFER treatment than eyebrow tattoos. This technique deposits colored pigments in the upper layers of the dermis. The color can also be adjusted in alignment with the original eyebrow hair color, which results to a realistic look and feel. It is a method whereby colors are inserted to the upper layers of the skin where it lasts only 1-3 years depending on the skin retention of colors.
The process will take around 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
IS A CONSULTATION REQUIRED?
A consultation is not required but We usually recommend you to come in for a consultation if you have had a previous tattoo on your eyebrows, or if you have a skin condition that needs to be evaluated. A consultation is a great way to meet your technician, tour the boutique and ask any questions you may have with time dedicated esecially for you. During a consultation we will give you an allergy patch test, talk about your brow goals, measure and shape, and show you a tailored for you brow shape we can relicate on the day of your service. You can book a consultation with Monica, and if you chose to go forward with your initial brow service, this fee will be applied to your balance. We will find you the soonest availabe appointment during the consult.
DOES IT HURT?
It is actually not bad! Monica uses a numbing cream that you will love her for. It’s the same numbing cream a doctor would use when administering Fillers or Botox! It’s just slightly uncomfortable, but definitely worth it. She uses combination of 2 anesthetics – a topical numbing cream before blading, and then an anesthetic gel is introduced once the procedure has started on open skin. This is topped up regularly during the treatment to keep you comfortable.
WILL I BE ABLE TO RETURN TO WORK SHORTLY THEREAFTER?
Yes. Most clients show little to no swelling/ redness directly after the treatment. The color will be quite dark immediately after treatment, but not too conspicuous. The color will lighten within 10 days. You may also drive yourself to and from your appointment if you wish.
HOW DO YOU CHOOSE A SHAPE?
We choose a shape and style together. At the beginning of the procedure Monica will draw in a suggested shape for your new brows and then we work together to perfect this to your preference. Measurements are taken to check symmetry and placement. We do not start the brow enhancement treatment until you choose a final shape.
WHAT IS 'MANUAL SHADING' OR 'POWDER BROWS'?
The Microblading technique of building hair strokes is not always enough to cover the area of the eyebrows. When a client has thick, coarse hair or even no hair at all in some or all parts of the brow, the artist must cover a lot of bare skin. Microblading alone will not create the most natural result. The best results are achieved when the artist skillfully creates the illusion of depth, fullness and volume by using machine shading techniques to blend the microblading into natural brows.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
The procedure is solit into two appointments. The initial appointment is about 3 hours inckuding numbing, please plan accordingly. The touch up is about 1-1.5 hours.
WILL I NEED A TOUCH UP?
Everyone’s skin is different so it greatly depends on your skin and your healing process. Microblading is the process of inserting pigment into the basal layer of the epidermis. It is a form of tattooing (cosmetic), though it is semi-permanent. Generally, the results are excellent but it very much depends on your skin texture, oiliness, etc. Your new semi-permanent eyebrow will go through several phases during the healing cycle.
HOW DO YOU CHOSE A COLOR?
Monica has a huge variety of colors and uses amazing vegan/ hypoallergenic pigment. While you are numbing after you have filled out all of your paperwork, we choose the color that is perfect for you.
WHO IS ALLOWED IN THE TREATMENT ROOM?
Due to insurance and health and hygiene purposes, Only the client is allowed in the room. If you nrimg a fried for advice on the shaping- that is fine but once the service starts only the client is to be in th treatement room. If you come to your scheduled appointment with your child, your appointment WILL be cancelled and your deposit forfeited. NO EXCEPTIONS.
I HAVE PREVIOUS PERMANENT MAKEUP, CAN I GET MICROBLADING?
PLEASE NOTE: If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed and are interested in a cover-up/re-work, you MUST email us a clear photo PRIOR to booking your appointment. If you book your appointment online and leave a deposit, without emailing Monica a clear photo of your FULL FACE without makeup PRIOR to booking and without her ok to move forward, your deposit WILL NOT be refunded. We cannot guarantee results for cases such as these and we must approve that your eyebrows are workable. In some cases where the previous work is too dark, dense, discoloured, or large, tattoo removal will be highly recommended before we begin the cover-up/re-work. Previously tattooed areas and cover-ups will almost always require additional touch-ups for best results and will be charged accordingly. If you have previous work done, there will be a different fee than for those clients who have untouched skin. For best tresults, please book a brow consult.
